Gender & life-transition coaching

You don't have to navigate this alone.

One-on-one coaching for people moving through a gender transition — or any transition that's rearranging your life. I've navigated more than one of my own, and I'll walk alongside you through yours.

Hi, I'm Shakina.

I'm an actress, director, writer, and producer — the first transgender actress cast as a series regular on a network comedy, a Critics’ Choice Award winner, and the founding Artistic Director of Musical Theatre Factory. None of that happened in a straight line. I've moved through a gender transition, rebuilt a career more than once, and relocated across the country chasing work and community.

I think of what I offer as being a doula for your life change — not a permanent fixture, but steady support while you move through something disorienting into something that's actually yours. I've coached artists through career transitions for years; this work centers gender, but it isn't only for gender — it's for whoever is in the middle of becoming.
